Site Note: My favorite is for sure Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium, but these are in no particular order:

1. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is the most often used on-demand virus scanner on the market - even the free version. However, this premium edition gives you real-time virus protection, scheduled scanning, and everything you'd expect in an antivirus program.

There are three scanning modes to scan custom areas of the computer, the entire system, or things like the memory to find currently running malware.

Main Features: Real-time protection, blocks phishing attempts, scheduled scans, heuristic scanning, update scheduler, compatible with other antivirus software, finds rootkits

Compatible OS: Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is one of the cheapest antivirus programs I could find and it even works on 3 computers.

There's a 14 day trial available so you can test Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium without spending a dime.
