5 Best Antivirus Programs for 2019

There are plenty of free antivirus programs available for download, but you'll want to use a professional antivirus program to ensure that you have maximum security for your computer or business.

Below are five of the best professional antivirus programs that will do well protecting your computer from viruses.

My favorite is for sure Malwarebytes Premium, but these are in no particular order:

Malwarebytes Premium

Malwarebytes is the most often used on-demand virus scanner on the market - even the free version. However, this premium edition gives you real-time virus protection, scheduled scanning, and everything you'd expect in an antivirus program.

There are three scanning modes to scan custom areas of the computer, the entire system, or things like the memory to find currently running malware.

Main Features: Real-time protection, blocks phishing attempts, scheduled scans, heuristic scanning, update scheduler, compatible with other antivirus software, finds rootkits

Compatible OS: Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP

Malwarebytes is one of the cheapest antivirus programs I could find and it even works on 3 computers.

There's a 14 day trial available so you can test Malwarebytes Premium without spending a dime.

Buy Malwarebytes Premium ($39.99 - 1 year, 1 PC)

If you pay for Malwarebytes Premium for two years instead, the price is $59.99 for those two years, which is essentially $30 /year instead of $40.

You can also buy this program for 2-10 computers for $10 extra for each computer (e.g., six computers would cost $89.99).

Bitdefender Antivirus Plus

Bitdefender Antivirus Plus is a popular brand of antivirus software. They have free versions and complete, full-blown AV software that's great for home users and business users alike.

Bitdefender Antivirus Plus uses little CPU power and memory, can be managed remotely, secures passwords in a virtual wallet, and protects USB devices, among many other features.

There's also a free version of Bitdefender Antivirus Plus that you can try before you purchase it.

See my review of Bitdefender for more information.

Buy Bitdefender Antivirus Plus (1 PC, 1 Year Subscription) ($39.95 - 1 year, 1 PC)

Tip: Get 20% off Bitdefender Antivirus Plus (save $7.99) with the AB7A21C09B discount code. It's valid through the rest of 2017.

AVG Internet Security Unlimited

AVG has a superb free version that's very popular called AVG Free Antivirus. They also have this great professional version of the product that includes some really nice features.

Main Features: Website link scanner, file download shield, anti-spam, firewall, file shredder, file encryptor, technical support, scheduled scans, rootkit finder

Compatible OS: Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP

AVG Internet Security Unlimited can be used on an unlimited number of computers for that one price, per year. You can not only scan and monitor for viruses but also shred files, scan email, protect from online scams, and check links in your web browser.

ESET NOD32 Antivirus

ESET NOD32 Antivirus works with one to five computers (depending on what you pay for) and includes a gamer mode, Facebook/Twitter protection, automatic updates, and free support.

Main Features: Social media scanner, exploit blocker, gamer mode, antivirus, anti-phishing, automatic USB device scans, memory scanner

Compatible OS: Mac and Windows XP through Windows 10

Download a trial of ESET NOD32 Antivirus if you'd rather test it out before making a purchase.

Buy ESET NOD32 Antivirus ($39.99 - 1 year, 1 PC )

When you're ready to checkout, can save some money if you purchase this AV program for two or three years at once instead the one year price you see here.

Kaspersky Internet Security

Kaspersky has many tools to help fend against viruses, and their professional Internet Security program does just that.

The price is a little high, but the program doesn't suck up all your system resources and it's really simple to use.

Main Features: Cloud updating, firewall, real-time protection, application control, anti-phishing, frequent updates, link/website scanner, anti ad/banner, gamer mode, technical support, rescue CD

Compatible OS: Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP

A two-way firewall is included with a virtual keyboard and anti-phishing capabilities, among many other great features.

You can try this program free for 30 days on the checkout page if you choose not to buy it right now.

Buy Kaspersky Internet Security  ($54.99 - 1 year, 3 devices)

You can also buy Kaspersky Internet Security for five devices but the cost rises to $62.99 /year.

My favorite way to download torrents is to use Yes, there is a fee to use it but I think the cost is completely worth it. There are multiple reasons this is my favorite torrent downloader, which I'll explain below. However, if you want just one reason, consider that you can download torrents through your web browser without a desktop client, from anywhere you have access to the internet. Another cool thing about is that if you use it while connected to a VPN service , you're essentially downloading torrents anonymously .

How to Use Torrents Anonymously

If you're worried about your privacy when using torrents , it may be necessary to learn how to download and upload torrents anonymously (e.g. anonymous torrenting). Government spying and ISP tracking and logging can become so overwhelming that you assume all your Internet traffic is being watched. It's time to stop worrying and sign up for a VPN service that can shield your activity. Read on to see what it means to be anonymous, what VPN service to choose, and what you need to get started.
