Bitport.io is an online torrent client much like Put.io. I suggest you take a look at my review of Put.io for a comparison between these two services.
Instead of having to download torrents with a regular torrent downloading program, you can just put the torrent URL or file onto the Bitport.io website and have it fetch the torrent for you. Then, all you have to do is download it like a regular file.
If you get a video or audio file through Bitport.io, you can stream it directly from the website and never have to download anything! There are lots of other neat features below that might encourage you to start using Bitport.io.
It's actually very easy to use. Whether you have an actual .TORRENT file on your computer or you just have the torrent or magnet link URL, just pate or upload the file in the text box like you see here, and hit the Add new torrent button.
Once Bitport.io loads the content and identifies what the torrent is, it will ask if you're sure you want it to download the files to your cloud (your Bitport.io account). Use the Download to my cloud button to do so.
If you check the small box on that page, you can have Bitport.io email you when the file is ready to be downloaded. I like this option because it means you don't have to keep checking your account to know when the files are ready to be used.
If you check the text on that page, you'll see just how much storage you'll have remaining if you do download the file.
At this point, you have to wait for the Bitport.io service to load your torrent. Once loaded into your account, you can move your files into separate folders, download whole folders as a ZIP archive (helpful if you have multiple files), stream media content, or download the original file in its original format.
Since drag and drop is supported. moving files into folders is super simple.
Here's what it looks like downloading an ISO file. It shows the total size of the file, the file type (.ISO), and that the file has been scanned and is clean of any malware.
I also like Bitport.io's live search tool.
To see how much storage you have remaining, just click My account at the top of the page, like this:
Also in that section is a link to your account settings. There, you can set up email notifications to get alerted about payments, when a torrent is downloaded to your account and ready for you to have, and when a video has been converted.
Other useful settings include an RSS feed fetcher that can automatically check an RSS feed for you and download the files for you. It's awesome because you can choose which folder to have those feed items deposited, as well as define filters so that Bitport.io doesn't download everything from the feed.
In addition to the RSS feed grabber is FTP access. You can download your files through an FTP client with the details in the FTP access section of the settings.

Use Bitport.io With a VPN For Anonymous Torrenting
Since Bitport.io can be used directly in your browser, and your browser can be used behind a VPN service, combining the two is a great way to download torrents with a VPN.
My list of free and paid VPN services shows some of my favorites. I happen to use Private Internet Access (PIA) for my VPN needs because it's cheap, but there are lots of other options.
